Dr Anthony Brazzale
Dr Anthony Brazzale

Dr Brazzale is a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist with special interests in the assessment of patients with chest pain and shortness of breath, as well as the investigation and management of coronary artery disease. Dr Brazzale performs coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions, via both the radial and femoral approach, utilising fractional flow reserve measurements and intravascular imaging where indicated.

Having grown up on a mango farm in Mutchilba, on the Atherton Tablelands, he moved to Townsville to study medicine at James Cook University. Dr Brazzale graduated with First Class Honours and received the University Medal for his academic achievements. Additionally, he was awarded the Whole Time Medical Specialist Prize for achieving the highest grade in his medical cohort.

After completing his internship at the Cairns Base Hospital, he moved to Brisbane to pursue cardiology training. His cardiology training was undertaken at both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Nambour Hospital, providing him with a solid foundation in clinical cardiology as well as the performance and interpretation of a broad range of cardiac investigations. Dr Brazzale subsequently undertook a further year of sub-speciality training in Interventional Cardiology at Western Health in Melbourne.

Dr Brazzale has a public appointment as a Consultant Staff Specialist in Interventional Cardiology at the Cairns Hospital where he provides emergency cardiac care for patients suffering from acute heart attacks.

Dr Brazzale is committed to providing patients of North Queensland with the highest level of contemporary cardiac care.
